If not, please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We look forward to learning about your interest in preserving Oak Creek and its watershed!

  • How much time do I need to commit?

A few hours, a few days, a few months, a few years… Different volunteer opportunities require different amounts of time. We will do our best to work with you and whatever amount of time you have available to help Oak Creek and its watershed.

  • I can’t volunteer right now. Is there still a way for me to make a difference?

Yes. Our everyday activities can really add up. Everything we do in our watershed affects the health of our local water bodies. Here are some things you can do to help keep our rivers clean and healthy.

    - Pick up your dog waste and dispose of properly

    - Use appropriate toilet facilities

    - Discard litter and recyclables into proper receptacles

    - Learn more about the Oak Creek Watershed on this website and stay up to date with future events on our calendar HERE!

  • Is training required to volunteer with your organization?

Some volunteer opportunities may require training. Information about training will be provided to you as needed. We have many training resources available online. Learn more HERE.

  • What are the benefits of volunteering with OCWC/Friends of Oak Creek?

It feels good! You are putting your skills to work for a local nonprofit organization and, more importantly, for Oak Creek and its watershed. You are making your community a better place. AND you are learning new skills and gaining experience that is a great addition to your resume.

  • When are volunteer opportunities available?

Volunteer opportunities with the Oak Creek Watershed Council/ Friends of Oak Creek are always changing. Spring, summer, and fall tend to be times when we’re more active outdoors and could use volunteer help. But contact us any time to see if there are projects (indoors or out) that could use a pair of helping hands. We’re always happy to hear from you!

  • Who do I contact to volunteer?

Contact our Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, Bob Kampfe at or Operations Assistant, Dalton Zanetti at to learn more. You can also find opportunities on our website calendar HERE or on our Facebook site HERE.

  • Who volunteers for the OCWC/Friends of Oak Creek?

We work with people of all ages and abilities, from a local school group picking up trash for Creekside Cleanups to retired volunteers collecting water samples. We will do our best to work with your skills and abilities.
