Volunteer Opportunities...please mark your calendar
Thursday, July 11th
Friends of Oak Creek will have the Oak Creek Watershed Terrain Model on display at Indian Gardens. We will be visiting with (and educating) residents, tourists and anyone who comes by. We will also be handing out our brochures, answering any questions and of course, we will have plenty of bookmarks in case people would like to make donations. I would like for us be there from 9 - 3 at least and am open for suggestions. If you can come for a 2 or 3 hour shift, mark your calendar and please let me know.
Friday, July 12th
We will be cleaning up Oak Creek en mass! We would like as many people as possible to join us. We have 38 sites designated so there are plenty of sites to go around! We will work in pairs, at least. Once I get responses, we can figure out who wants to work where so the start times can be flexible. Once again, please call or email me.
Sunday, August 4th
Annual Hummingbird Festival from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. It will be at the Performing Arts Center (indoors). Again we will have the Terrain Model set up, along with our brochures, bookmarks, etc. These will be 2 –3 hour shifts. Join us, and enjoy the comradery! (Let me know)
We are continuing to clean up Oak Creek and being very flexible with your schedules. If you want to go out some time and need a partner, let me know and I'll send out an email. We have several people going out on a regular basis and we appreciate it! For those that like a schedule, we will have one scheduled cleanup a month.
Thank you for your support...Kathy Dunham, Managing Director
All your time volunteering in activities shown above and below will help as matching funds on the Oak Creek Outreach grant... please let Kathy know.
Watershed Restoration Volunteers
Hello Bird Walkers!
Sunday, June 30
We will meet at the Sedona Wetlands Preserve for a Weed Pulling Party!
7 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Bring lots of water!
We will have refreshments after.
Wear light long pants, long sleeves, water-proof gloves and shoes.
It will be hot, hard work but we need all volunteer efforts to get on top of the invasive weeds taking over the wetlands.
