The Call of the Canyon is more than just a catch phrase. It is something you live and breathe when you are fortunate to live within the Oak Creek Watershed. Be a part of preserving this Legacy. There is much to do but many hands make light work.

Residents of Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, Coconino County, Yavapai County – we are an organization of people who care about our watershed environment and the integrity of its outstanding watercourse, Oak Creek and its five tributaries.

The Call of the Canyon is more than just a catch phrase. It is something you live and breathe when you are fortunate to live within the Oak Creek Watershed. Be a part of preserving this Legacy. There is much to do but many hands make light work.

Oak Creek Watershed Council meets 6 times a year... every second week of every second month for a morning. You will rub shoulders with representatives from every level of government, business groups, companies, universities, home owner associations, and other private citizens.

We have several completed grant projects including construction of the first roadside public restrooms at Indian Gardens and Midgley Bridge, as well as developing a Trailhead Ambassador program with Sedona high school students.

A third community-driven grant focuses on improving the water quality of Oak Creek for its entire length down to the Verde River.  We've developed the Oak Creek Community Outreach Program (OCCOP) in which we solicit help from all watershed residents.

If you have time on your hands, love Oak Creek, and want to help protect the watershed environment, contact us today and join us for one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

Together, we ARE making a difference.

The Oak Creek Watershed Council held meetings for property owners living along Oak Creek within 500 feet of the 500 year flood plane on September 22-23, 2012. The work of the watershed council and opportunities for improving waste water treatment were discussed. The powerpoint presentation from the meeting is available for download HERE. A list of property owner's Frequently Asked Questions was also compiled and is available HERE.
