Indian Gardens Cleanup

Friends of Oak Creek invite you to join them this 8:30 a.m. Saturday, August 24th at Indian Gardens to help clean up areas of Oak Creek. FOC members picked up 212 lbs of trash last Friday and between Thursday and Sunday, our 4 Oak Creek Ambassadors picked up 194 lbs of trash, 11.5 lbs of feces and 5 diapers. If that isn’t alarming enough, during 12 days of August the cumulative totals of trash removed by the Ambassadors was over 538 lbs, 26.5 lbs of feces and 16 diapers. Watershed Guide Book

Volunteers needed for development of Watershed Guide Book: The first meeting of the Watershed Guide Book team will be held at the Sedona Library, 3250 White Bear Road, Sedona, AZ 86336 on Thursday, August 22 at 1:00 p.m. (in the Quiet Room).

This is a total volunteer effort and should appeal to those who have a background in publishing; love to write creatively; have a flare for graphics; have a vivid imagination; are idea people; those who have knowledge of area history, wildlife, geology, flora, water issues; outreach and public relations; educators, and all who love Oak Creek.

This is a grant project and we have funding for the printing. The Watershed Guide book will be a potpourri of subject matter to do with the Oak Creek Watershed. It will be full of facts blended into a story theme that will appeal to residents and visitors of all ages. This is a project you will want to get involved in because its product will be around forever, and you can proudly let others know you were a part of it.
